Automated driving: Valet parking
Developing intelligent driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, traffic jam assist or even truck platooning and highly automated driving has long been a focus of us.
Our automated valet parking (AVP) for example, which we developed together with our partner ika, allows the driver to leave his car in front of the car park and allocate a parking space with his smart phone. The vehicle will then find this space and park itself. Of course the driver can also order the car via smartphone to come back and pick him up in front of the car park once he wants to leave. Thanks to our experience in implementing such functions in test vehicles and newest algorithms for path planning, we could easily implement the new functionality in our testing vehicle.
With our unique infrastructure, we offer the whole development and implementation process for functions like automated valet parking from concept to live demonstration. Our testing vehicles are equipped to integrate any functionality easily. They all have laser, radar and ultrasound sensors, mono cameras with lane and object recognition as well as V2V and V2X communication. Therefore, we have also already developed systems for ACC Stop & Go, LKA, AEB, TJA and, eventually, automated driving.
