Innovative functional architectures
The upcoming vehicle generations will have to offer new solutions for the E/E architecture to meet the requirements of more and more complex functions.
Among others, the requirements in the areas of
- functional safety according to ISO 26262,
- interoperability and connectivity of systems and functions,
- upgradeability of functions, and
- cyber security
play a decisive role.
Therefore, it is essential to take into account future aspects of functional structuring, planning of control units and connectivity already now.
Our goal is to combine the requirements of automotive engineering and participating technologies for infrastructure and consumer electronics. Therefore, we created in close collaboration with RWTH Aachen University's research units new approaches.
For the development of architectures and architectural approaches we also use evaluation processes like ATAM (architecture trade-off analysis method) for example.

Model-Based Systems Engineering
Introduction and implementation of the Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach
We move away from the traditional document-based approach and instead rely on interconnected digital models. A system model serves as a shared platform for communication between all teams involved in development. It acts as a central source of information, ensuring that crucial data is always up to date and accessible.
