Interior air conditioning
New concepts for electric vehicles and automated driving create new challenges for the interior air conditioning like
- declining waste heat,
- growing comfort requirements for purposes of safety (driver exhaustion), and
- increasing focus on comfort due to less distraction during automated driving.
Furthermore, an efficient heating and cooling is essential to not limit the range of electric vehicles.
Thanks to our extensive testing infrastructure, we provide the whole process chain of development for such systems, starting with the simulation of components and vehicle interior followed by prototyping and testing for thermoelectric heatpumps e.g. up to comfort investigations in our partner's Automotive Interior Center.
For these purposes, we also use our demonstrator for CFD and comfort simulations of vehicle interiors, as already done while developing zonal air conditioning systems.
